The Depression is coming to a close, but 18 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the threat of war has just begun. Our SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN family has returned, about to say a bittersweet goodbye to their only son, who is shipping out with the Marine Corps. But before he goes, the Sanders Family Singers are heading up the annual Christmas celebration at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe (who works part-time at the local pickle plant) and the Sanders family attempt to raise the spirits of their faithful flock (the audience!) in a rousing, hilarious and heart-warming Christmas gospel sing-along of cherished holiday hymns and carols. There's Uncle Stanley; the family's patriarch, Burl, and his Scripture-quoting wife, Vera; the twins Dennis and Denise and their sister June (she doesn't sing, she signs). You will need to pick up your tickets at the ticket counter located inside The Little Opry Theatre (IMAX Complex) between now and show time. You may stop at the theater at any time during normal business hours to pick up your tickets. You will only need identification for the person whose name the reservations are under. No other paperwork is required. Please arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes early if you plan on picking up your tickets right before show time.
Still photography is allowed, but audio and video recording is strictly prohibited.
Parking is free. The parking lot is mostly flat.
The show lasts approximately 120 minutes with a 15 minute intermission.
The dress code is casual. You are welcome to wear jeans and a t-shirt. Just dress comfortably and enjoy the show!
